Employer incentives and services

Businesses needing to recruit staff can access a range of free services and incentives through the Employer Hotline. The Hotline connects employers with a network of nearly 2000 local recruitment agencies
The agencies specialise in matching work opportunities to job seekers who are moving into the workforce.
This includes parents returning to work, people with disabilities, mature age people and those who
haven’t worked for a while.
Recruitment agencies can assist employers with free online job advertising, recruitment advice and screening
and shortlisting of candidates.
Employers may also be able to access a range of incentives and other assistance, including:

  • Wage Assist – a wage subsidy employers may receive by providing ongoing work opportunities to people
who haven’t worked for a while.
  • Opportunities for short periods of work experience. This lets employers assess how well a candidate picks
up skills and operates in a work environment
  • A range of support to help employers recruit Indigenous Australians.
  • More child care - there are now more childcare places, making it easier to employ parents returning to work
and some employers will also find it easier to set up childcare services on site.
  • More places in vocational and technical education programmes to help with skills development for staff.

The recruitment network has candidates from a range of backgrounds who can make valuable contributions in
a broad range of industries including hospitality, retail, housing, health, building and construction, business and mining sectors. Many of these candidates have valuable experience and all are keen to return to work.
