The AHA communicates to 8,500 hoteliers through the national magazine,
OURhotel. OURhotel is Australia’s leading tourism and hospitality
magazine.
Research and Policy Development
The AHA develops and prepares policy documents on key issues affecting
the industry. This ensures the presentation of well researched and
argued policy positions and options to Governments.
Advocacy & Lobbying
The AHA presents key issues to Government and Opposition that affect
the tourism industry in partnership with members, and other
stakeholders.
Government Liaison
The AHA has effective liaison with key Commonwealth Departments and
agencies.
Industry Liaison
The AHA has effective liaison with industry partners and AHA state
offices.
Meetings & Events
The AHA provides key networking opportunities for members and industry
partners including meetings with key Federal and Opposition Ministers
and backbenchers and politicians in Canberra.
Industry Partnerships
The AHA develops and maintains effective corporate partnerships,
sponsorship and strategic alliance.
Committees:
The AHA sits on the following committees: National Tourism Alliance, Tourism Minister’s Advisory Council, National Tourism and Aviation Advisory Committee, AAA Tourism Industr Advisory Forum, Mass Gatherings Infrastructure Assurance Advisory Group, Australian Customs Service Passenger Facilitation Taskforce (Aviation and Tourism Industry). Further to this, the AHA’s National Vice President, Peter Burnett, is a Director of Tourism Australia.
