AHA LINKS WITH STR GLOBAL

The accommodation sector is an important part of the Australian Hotels Association. There is a branch of the Accommodation Division in each State and Territory comprising members of the AHA whose primary business is the provision of accommodation.

The Australian Hotels Association is the leading industry body for four and five-star accommodation hotels in Australia, through the AHA Accommodation Division. Boutique hotels and resorts and other businesses that specialise in the provision of accommodation are also part of the Accommodation Division.

Accommodation hotels in each State and Territory make up the AHA Accommodation Division. On a national basis, the AHA National Accommodation Division (NAD) debates, discusses and adopts industry policies and strategies that affect accommodation hotels on a national basis.

The Accommodation Division’s role is to keep accommodation members fully informed of major challenges and opportunities facing the industry. An important role of the Accommodation Division is representing members’ interests at a national level and lobbying government on relevant matters to ensure the best possible operating environment for the industry.

The Accommodation Division also has strong links to the tourism industry. It maintains close relationships with all tourism stakeholders.

The NAD is comprised of the Chairs of each of the respective State and Territory Accommodation Divisions along with other elected representatives and Accommodation Division Managers from AHA State and Territory branches. The NAD meets on a quarterly basis and holds its Annual General Meeting in late August or early September.
